Rabbi Shimon Dovid Yanofsky

Rosh Mesivta / Dean

Rabbi Shimon Dovid Yanofsky comes from a rich pedigree of mechanchim and has had a long career of success in leading yeshivas and inspiring young people. After decades of teaching and administrative experience, he saw a need to launch the Mesivta of Chestnut Ridge as a unique yeshiva in the Monsey community. Rabbi Yanofsky is tirelessly devoted to the well-being of each and every talmid, and carefully cares for the entirety of the yeshiva as well. Under his leadership, the yeshiva community of talmidim and rabbeim work together to make to form the special place that it is.

Rabbi Levy is an experienced, dedicated, beloved Rebbi whose great enthusiasm and endless patience allow him to relate to his talmidim in a very special way. Rabbi Levy learned at Yeshiva Mercaz Hatorah of Belle Harbor and in Yeshiva Gedolah of Passaic by R' Meir Stern, followed by 12 years in Kollel Tiferes Tzvi in Yerushalayim. Rabbi Levy has been a Rebbi since 2015 in various Yeshivos around Monsey before joining Rabbi Yanofsky in founding MCR. Rabbi Levys' electric energy and warmth are the heart of the Limudei Kodesh program, and give our talmidim a strong sense of ruach and ahavas haTorah.

Rabbi Doniel Spiro learned in Telshe Riverdale, Brisk, and in Beis Medrash Govoha. A tremendous Talmid Chochom and a mechanech for many years, Rabbi Spiro is loved by his talmidim for his calm and easygoing demeanor, his tremendous insight and perspectives, and his huge heart. Knowing they can reach out to him at any point, whether it's for a slurpee run, a pickup from the bus, or a late night shmooze, Rabbi Spiro is a Rebbi the Talmidim know they can rely on.

Night Seder Rebbi / General Studies Coordinator

Rabbi Prupas grew up in Montreal, and learned in Rav Nosson Steins of Lakewood, followed by stints in Rav Nechemia Kaplan and the Mir of Yerushalayim. He became a Rebbi in Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim in 2011, working with talmidim struggling to find their place in a Torah lifestyle. Upon moving to Monsey, Rabbi Prupas became the 7th grade Rebbi in Yeshivas Ohr Reuven. In joining Rabbi Yanofsky in founding MCR, Rabbi Prupas brings a tremendous dedication and a sense of humor to the yeshiva, and focuses on making sure the talmidims afternoons and evenings are productive and filled with opportunities for growth.

Rabbi Yaakov Mintz

Dean of Students

Rabbi Mintz hails from New Jersey and learned at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchonon in New York and Yerushalayim before beginning his career in chinuch.  He serves as Dean of Students at MCR, and helps each and every student design their personal learning program and find ways to succeed. After a long career as a Rebbi and general studies teacher, Rabbi Mintz shifted to specializing in Alternative Education to create opportunities for all young people in our community. The talmidim feel the deep belief that Rabbi Mintz has in their potential which allows them to work hard towards their personal success.

Rabbi Forschheimer plays a vital role in the lives of the talmidim of MCR. A man of many talents - he is an inspiring rebbi and role model as well as giving so much more to the yeshiva. Under Rabbi Forschheimer's leadership, our talmidim built the MCR chill room as well as many other individual projects.  He generously shares his own talent, creativity, and passion to help bring out the best in each and every boy.
